Our internship programme provides work placements from 8 weeks to 12 months period throughout the year. The internships are open to you whether you are applying as an individual who may need help gaining work experience or students, including finalists, graduates and postgraduates, unless specified otherwise in the internship vacancy. We also have some open places to individuals who would like to gain work experience to support their career prospects.
Why are they important?
Internships are known for giving students the opportunity to apply learnt knowledge in real world environments. At the same time, interns will also develop skills which will help them perform better at their jobs. Internships greatly increase the chances that a student will gain full in time employment after graduation.
Because many employers feel that some students lack the practical experience to excel in the world of work, internships have become more important than ever before. Individuals who choose to participate in internships can gain credits towards their course of study. This scheme also gives individuals a real opportunity to gain valuable experience to bridge the gap between study and the beginning of your working lives.
Every internship is unique and each comprise of common elements such as:
- A defined project, which creates real value for the sponsoring organisation and a valuable learning experience for the student
- Interaction with an assigned supervisor or mentor within the sponsoring organisation.
- A reference from your sponsored organisation.
There are a variety of different companies who offer internships to students. These include companies such as corporations, non-profit organisations, education establishments within the private and public sector. As you look into internships and work experience, it is important to understand what employers want. A number of studies have shown that there are some clear attributes that employers are looking for.

Elements Of A Good Internship
An Internship or work experience placement can provide individuals with an opportunity to put into practice skills they have learned during training and/or education, in a workplace setting, to enhance those skills, understand the workplace environment and context and to benefit from a mentor/coach or supervisor’s experience and advice.
Maximum benefit will be gained when a supervisor or mentor is on hand to guide and manage the workplace experience and, ideally, to agree a set of learning outcomes that will be achieved at the end of the placement.
An Internship or work experience placement can allow the individual to achieve some of the following objectives:

· To develop new skills / enhance existing skills that are directly applicable to careers
